Serenis La Salina, Veradero, Cuba

April 2010 and 2011
One for the money, two for the show!

Every inch of the sprawling hotel was beautiful (and clean)....the buildings, the rooms, the pools, the grounds.

The food was okay at the buffets...but the pulled pork sandwiches near the beach...YUMMY! We ate at the French and Japanese restaurants - both a satisfying change of pace from the buffet and quite nice food.
Culture - a LOT of French Canadians and a good amount of East Coasters. Met a few people from our own back yard (Ontario). A lot of weddings and 20-somethings who enjoyed the night life.

The theatre was really something else. Professional dancers showing off more than just their moves! You;ll see ;) The Romantica Show is not to be missed - it's like Dirty Dancing on Crack - just amazing!
The Beach was fine....the Ocean - salty and warm and lovely.

Trips - We did the Catamaran that included Snorkling, and a visit with some dophins...Fantastic Day and worth every penny!

We took the Habana tour - our tour guide gave us so much interesting information about Cuba that the 2 hour ride went by in a flash.

Warning: Do not rent Mopeds - they are not insured and very dangerous driving on the roads there with busses etc...many fatalities - I ended up with a broken hand and seven stitches in my leg! Great Dr. and Nurses took care of me in Veradero. Could have been worse.
Overall, a lovely vacation!
We went back the next year with the kids and had an equally pleasant stay.
